Lin Wong is an Indonesian artist currently based in Bali, Indonesia. Her work is profoundly shaped by her experiences living abroad in Singapore, Shanghai, and Sydney, which have influenced her exploration of identity, memory, and self-understanding.

With a lifelong passion for making art and formal training in the Bachelor of Fine Arts program at the National Art School in Sydney. While she didn’t complete the degree, her time there provided a strong foundation for her practice. Lin’s practice combines intuitive expression with reflective depth. She uses layers of color, texture, and form to create works that capture fragments of emotion and experience, embracing the messy and imperfect nature of identity.

Lin’s work draws inspiration from influential artists such as Helen Frankenthaler, Joan Mitchell, Franz Kline, Anish Kapoor, and Jürgen Partenheimer. Their bold approaches to abstraction and form resonate in her own explorations of self-discovery and personal growth.

Living in diverse cultural environments has instilled in Lin a deep appreciation for change and complexity. Her paintings are a testament to this journey, reflecting the overlapping, imperfect fragments of life that come together to form a whole. Through her art, she offers a glimpse into her evolving self, while inviting others to reflect on their own stories.
